Nails stained a deep pink. Lips stained a deep brown. Pale, little hands imprisoned in a lattice of fine, rust-hued lines. A heavily embroidered fabric draped carefully in folds. A glint of gold at the neck, a slight glimmer peeping through black curls. She looks into the mirror: a little Indian doll. She wonders. Can one be imprisoned by one’s own image?
