Why do we so often seek the impossible? Why do we find it so hard to reconcile ourselves to fact? This obsession with fantasy is hard to explain and I'm sure most of us are guilty of the crime. It's time to stop looking. What you're seeking does not exist.
I don't see what's wrong with reaching for the skies. Hardly a crime, that. Aren't the attempt and the journey far more important than some ultimate end?
Too pessimistic i believe. You reach only as far as your dreams. Some dreams may shatter into a thousand pieces because they were not to be, but you shouldn't be afraid of picking them up and dreaming again.
"All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible."

@ Both: But its also true that some things are not and can never be. Yet we worry about them and wish for them to somehow translate into reality. And this process should be nipped in the bud.
Ah, but you see, I'm completely escapist and cannot condone the policing of any dream, however unreasonable or unrealisable, and how much ever misery it may cause. :)
Maybe its important to stop seeking, but in the process one often try to crush a wish which is a very important part of the person one is. If you can find a way of wishing for something without seeking it, wiothout becoming bitter and drained by the wish tell me. :) And you know, things go away for sometime, but they come back too, in a different place, in rich unexpected ways. :)
