What's life about?

Life is about living. It's getting up in the morning and claiming the day as your own. It's feeling the wind in your hair and knowing that no one in the world can be more alive than you at this moment. It's reading a book or thinking about physics and feeling the wheels in your head turning. It's about the sudden gleam of understanding. Life is about the ache in your legs when you push yourself for one more lap; when you smile and keep your body moving to the rhythm when your legs are ready to give way. Life is about achievement: about focussing your mind, your will and your body to get there.

Life is about a shady restaurant and a group of laughing people. It's about watching a movie and making snide comments. :) It's about being on the phone for two hours moaning about the futility of existence. Life is about that little hand, that little smile which you want to so fiercely protect. It's about going hysterical with laughter and coming that close to tears. Life is about the world inside your heart and the fulfillment that it brings when you share it with yourself and with others.

Life is about the smile which Gibrain bring to your face. It's about that sense of identifying with each feeling that Hardy describes. It's about listening to something which was composed centuries back and letting it stir you up. It about the exhilaration when you find yourself dancing, moving to the rhythm without the need for conscious control. Life is about being in the mountains and just breathing in that startling purity. It's about the white, jagged peaks cutting the pink sunset. Life is about letting the green of the leaves, the blue of the open sky, the clarity of the cold air wash away the grey inside your head. Life is about the high which you get when you toast to your senses.

And when you want to just give up, life is about not letting 'a momentary lapse of reason' cloud your knowledge of what life's about.

Amazing read! :)

Only that I am unaware of how significant / impactful did u want your last line to be ...
and, whether it is 'just' a creation!

The quoted part is the name of an album by Pink Floyd. So unfortunately, not my creation :) And yeah, most of my writing is not very structured. I just put down whatever I think of whenever I think of it. So if something creates an impact, its usually just good luck :)

Beautiful!:)
Reminded me of something someone said - life is big, there is space for everything, even that which we find most difficult to accept about ourselves.
'to hold the world in your heart, and share it with yourself and with others'- this piece really does that, and so lovingly... :)

Well said and tooo well written!
Life's also about temporary-alternating-cyclic(sometimes unwanted) phases...
looks like you wrote this one during one of the rosy ones..

@ Vartika: The first three paragraphs were written in a good phase. The last line was in a bad phase, when I was wondering how to end the damn thing. :)
